The start has been made! The participants in the Best Fondue in Brazil contest took part in the opening of the 3rd Brazilian Cheese World Cup on Thursday, April 11, and presented their bets to the judges.
All six contestants had to follow the rule of using 50% of gruyére cheese in their dish, while the other half was each contestant's choice.
During the opening of the competition, Fabien Clerc, Swiss Consul for Tourism in Brazil, drew attention to the rules of the competition: “Originality is very important, but so is respect for Swiss tradition”
In the second edition of the competition, the event has six participants: Rafael Marques, Luiz Fernando Coutinho, Raquel Chap Chap, Malu Mello, Dudu Prado and Camila Almeida. They are being assessed by eight experienced judges: Chef Lino, Clara Gaehwiler, Danni Symon, Fred Sabag, Marcos Nogueira, Rosa Moraes, Rosana Radecki and Dominique Bouchait.
The results of the Best Fondue in Brazil 2024 contest will be announced this Friday evening at an event at the Bandeirantes Palace.
This is the first time that the Best Fondue Contest in Brazil has been held during the Brazilian Cheese World Cup and this year it will take place in the same space as the producers' fair outside the B32 Theater in Faria Lima, Sao Paulo.
